Woodside, New York, January 20, 2014 – Bulova Corporation, the internationally-known timekeeping industry leader, is continuing its global expansion by opening its first office in Germany. As a new presence in the German watch market, the company was also a first-time exhibitor at Inhorgenta Munich 2014, one of the world’s most prominent trade fairs specializing in jewelry, timepieces and lifestyle products.

Having officially commenced operations on January 1, 2014, Bulova’s new German office is handling sales, customer relations, marketing and distribution within the German market. The General Manager is Oliver Besta, a veteran of more than a decade in the watch industry, with former positions in sales management at Skagen Designs and Fossil Group. Mr. Besta will report directly to Bulova Corporation president, Gregory Thumm.

“The opening of Bulova’s German office signals our commitment to the active and sophisticated German market as we extend our global operations,” said Mr. Thumm. “Our research indicated that German consumers would appreciate our established excellence in design and technology. With our success in other parts of Europe, we look forward to becoming a major force in this important market.”

The new German office will handle all major Bulova brands, offering an extensive selection of watches for dress, basic, sport and casual wear: Bulova Diamond Gallery, Marine Star, Precisionist, and Bulova Accutron II. In addition, it will be working with Bulova Accu·Swiss, the company’s luxury Swiss-made brand, and Caravelle New York, the reinvigorated fashion-oriented brand developed by the company’s New York design lab.
