Throughout its 141-year history, Bulova, America’s premier watch brand, has stayed attuned to cultural nuances with historic “firsts”—from broadcasting the first-ever radio and TV commercials to partnering with NASA. The GRAMMYs® are yet another pioneering first!

This partnership with Music’s Biggest Brand expands Bulova’s History of Firsts campaign; with a customized ad that recognizes that some of the more memorable “first moments” in our lives are often punctuated by music—iconic GRAMMY-winning music.


A Canadian-born-and-bred pop singer/songwriter, Shawn Mendes broke records at age 15 with his debut single, “Life of the Party,” to become the youngest-ever artist to land a debut single in Billboard’s Top 25. Mendes was signed by Island Records in 2014 and his first full-length album Handwritten debuted in 2015. Shawn’s second album, Illuminate, released September 2016, boasts another Top 10 single—“Treat You Better.” He opened for Taylor Swift on the North American dates of her 1989 World Tour, and played a sold-out Radio City Music Hall concert in March 2016, and is currently on a world tour. Shawn and his guitar are also featured in Bulova’s new History of Firsts ad campaign.
