As a scuba diver and Automatic divers aficionado, I have just got this outstanding watch "la Caravelle". I love its value proposition, specs, elegance and its vintage charm. Also, I wear it on a brown leather strap to add my own touch to it... 50 shades of cappuccino colors
my favorite type of watch after 25yrs restoring vintage timepieces: the classic 60s style diver is the best. and have to credit Bulova with reanimating their Caravelle diver very close to the original, albeit with some technical improvements (such as domed mineral crystal, tho i do prefer the original plastic). the miyota 8215 is a great improvement of the inexpensive rugged 8200 movement that's well know: this one hacks/winds & the seconds stutter when arm is bumped is hugely reduced. lume is surprisingly very decent for a 200m diver under $400 (amazing price)...i've $1000 Swiss divers with dimmer lume. the case has only grown 3mm over the 35mm original, which is appreciated by classic diver lovers. great chunky crown. and what allowed me to purchase was the quick release bracelet endlinks since i never wear bracelet watches and won't scratch up a new watch taking off the bracelet with tools. anyone not buying the Sea Hunter at this price, or any price under $500 has got to be making a mistake.
loving it so far, even put it on a nato strap for that outdoor feel.
super very nice...matches nicely to all the posts and videos online. that classic clean late 60s dive watch look is well preserved in a very authentic repro of Bulova's original vintage Sea Hunter. wouldn't have minded the original 35mm size, but 39mm (actually looks to be around 38mm+) is great in the modern era. the 8200 Miyota movement has been improved a bit to hack and wind. doubt Bulova will mind me saying it, but this watch wears with the same vibe as the classic very first Bond watch on 007's wrist. finally, quickset bracelet endlinks making this a breeze to swap out without a tool and without scratching up your watch, so it can be enjoyed on period tropics straps, or a NATO as on 007's wrist (different much more expensive brand, but same great 60s look).
