Explain Hack

As a US Navy Instrumentman and mechanical calibration technician in the 70's, I was also a Navy watchmaker. This original watch was made by Hamilton, Benrus, Gruen, and a couple others and they were all the same style. But the purpose of a "Hack" was a mechanical lever that stopped the balance wheel and thereby stopped the watch so a group of military people could synchronize their watches for whatever reason. By pulling out the crown (winder) the hack stops the watch while you set it and then at the same time everyone pushes the crown back in which restarts everyone's watch to the same time. Just like in the movies!

The perfect every day watch

I love this watch. Starting with the heritage, coupled with the simple, clean style, and the automatic mechanism. It is my perfect every day watch. The size is great on my wrist, not too big, not too small. I am happy to have this watch in my collection.

Great little no thrills simple watch!

Keeps good time. Accurate to within seconds of my cell phone and Regulator wall clock. Cloth band is very comfortable, but a bit long for my wrist, so I just fold the excess band back under the 2nd sliding strap holder.
