Purchased this as a Marines Bday gift for my husband. He loves it.
Great Tribute to my WW2 vet father. My father didn’t leave me much to remember his service, but this watch fills that void. It also gives me a way to support the Veterans’s Watchmaker initiative in a way that I can actually see the results.
This is a bullet-proof simple field watch. It does not have extra's like a month and date feature that you need a NASA scientist to help you set after you read the instruction manual and still can't figure it out. It simply tells time well. The numbers on the face are easy read in bed at 3:00 am. It keeps pretty good time and it is easy to set. While it is not a diver rated watch, I have found it is waterproof and I do not take it off when showering or swimming in the pool. Best of all, it is self-winding and requires no battery. Most waterproof battery operated watches that I have owned leak after the battery is replaced. For the price this watch is good value for the quality.
Good: The watch is awesome! Faithful recreation of the MIL-W-3818A, and part of sales go to a great cause. Could not be more happy with the watch! Bad: The band is too large for average wrists. Only fits 7 1/4" thru 9 1/4" wrists. My 6 7/8" wrist left the fit too sloppy, and resulted in premature wear of the leather reinforcement around the last hole after only two weeks. You will need an aftermarket replacement band if you have a small to medium sized wrist.
