The 96B251 comes with a leather and a nylon strap and looks great on both. Perhaps more importantly, it feels good on the wrist. The watch features the HPQ NP20 movement that also powers the 98A285 50th Anniversary Limited Edition that I've owned since 2021; I've set that watch once when it arrived, and it is still exact compared to time.gov. Bought directly from Bulova around Thanksgiving at a discount. I was considering an automatic, but service on a Moonwatch is more expensive than my new Lunar Pilot. It's a no-brainer: buy it!
Just got for Christmas and I absolutely love it! The history and the function. Looks are superb.
Fantastic watch! The one watch you’ll ever need. I chose the modern version for convenience of the date window and the ease of a quartz movement. You can live with it every day. I’m a pilot and astronaut selectee and have loved the Moon Watches. This model that Dave Scott reverted to when his Omega failed is superb and reliable. Having the Apollo 15 inscription on the watch case adds to the heritage of the watch. It’s my every day watch. It adds class to a suit and steps up your game when you’re casual. Perfect.
I really like my watch, smooth, fits perfect on my wrist,
I bought the watch for its historical value. The case is nice I found the strap cheap, and the NATO strap awkward. I did and an after market leather strap on it and it’s was much better.

I have been buying Bulova watches for years. The Lunar Pilot is by far the best Bulova watch I have purchased in years. It "wears' well. The dial is by far the most easy to read that I have seen in a long time. Black backround, bold white hands and time markers. I also beleive the crystal has an anti glare coating. The watch is also "super accurate". The 262khz movement assures this. When you wear this watch you almost find yourself on the moon. (Well almost.....)

Went scuba diving to 15m with the watch, which is water resistant to 50m. The chrono stopped working after the second dive. There was condensation inside the crystal. Overnight the watch died. Will get a replacement. Hoping it’s a fluke.
I got this as a gift for my birthday and i love the watch as it looks great , fits great and has a good feel for the watch , plus the history attached with it . The original belt looks good and comes with a leather belt and a Nato strap which is awesome, but i wanted something in brown leather , so I got some hand cut and stiched leather belt straps from my home town Belgaum INDIA , and it looks great with different style straps on it. Definitely reccomend this watch!!

I was gifted this watch a few years ago and have worn it everyday since. Very reliable and fashionable.
I am amazed at the quality and craftsmanship that went into this outstanding watch as a watch collector I am particularly impressed with the Percision of the quartz movement which to my understanding is the most accurate in the world I guarantee at this price point you won’t find anything else with this type of quality and historical significance I recommend the pull of the moon lunch
I've always been a big fan of vintage Bulovas. To see them recreate some of their historic pieces is nothing short of fantastic. The build quality of the watch is great as is the finishing. While the movement is not technically accurate to the original, the choice of using their 262 high frequency movement is a respectable one that gives the watch great reliability as well as prominence in the market.
Mi wife gave this to me as a present just because she knew I liked so much. So one day she came with nice box wrapped o with space drawings on it.
I purchased my Bulova moon watch last year and was blown away at its build quality and price. I was considering buying the already over inflated price of the other moon watch but stumbled upon this gem of a find and with its historic past was the final reason for me to purchase one. This a watch you wear with the satisfaction in knowing not a lot of others will have one and that it'll be a great topic of conversation when asked about it. I would love to purchase another if Bulova can produce one with a mechanical movement and non dated version true to the original watch used on the Apollo moon mission
I got the moon watch several months ago and it’s in my regular rotation. Super accurate and outstanding styling and value.
I absolutely love the detail that bulova put into making this watch.
Orologio di ottima fattura. Al polso non passa inosservato e l'alta frequenza di oscillazione del quarzo lo rende affidabilissimo.
I bought about 4 months ago, l have a collection of different levels, but this one is one of my favorites !!
I'm so proud to have a special edition watch that replicates the history of the human spirit to go farther away as the imagination can show to us.
Ive been interested in the Apollo Moon missions since seeing them land in 1969. Then i found out that other than the NASA Swiss watch, one other watch had been worn on the Moon by The Commander of Apollo 15 "Dave Scott" on EVA 2. The watch in question was the Bulova 96B251 Moon Watch. The watch is presented in a nice black wooden box with history booklet, two watch straps, leather and mission authentic velcro strap. I love wearing my Bulova Moon watch and think it looks and feels just as good as the NASA Swiss watch, at at a far better price.
I have had my Moon Watch for 3 months now and it is just sublime. I often have to look twice at my watch to see what time it is, not because it is hard to read - quite the reverse, it's just the first time of looking I see its beauty and the time doesn't register with me! It's beauty is in its sophisticated and understated style and when its not being worn it should really be hanging in an art gallery somewhere!
I have always been a fan of Bulova. This passion started in the 70s. This was when I fell in love with Bulova Accutron with its tuning fork accuracy. I wanted this watch. I had to wait until my 40s to own one. Bought second - maybe third hand - online. It was the railroad version: Already vintage but pristine looking and humming to them rhythm of time. Perfection. (see image) We should never forget that before the quartz movement there was the Accutron. Now Bulova has another world first with the 262 Khz. I used to think there was only one iconic watch which went to the moon. The release of the Bulova Special Edition Moon Chronograph made me think again. It's mixture or serious homage to the past and its superlative new 262 movement make it the watch with everything a watch lover would want. I already own several Bulovas. It has been a favourite watch brand since I was a kid. My Bulova collection has marked out some of the biggest moments in my life. With the Bulova Moon Watch I have come full circle. Owning one is a dream come true. I spent my early life - before my teens - glued to the television coverage of the moon landings. I shared the excitement of that first walk across the Sea of Tranquillity; the shock and then awe as Apollo 13 finally made it back to earth and the sense of achievement when the shuttle first lifted off and the highs and lows of its many missions. This was the real space age. It's an era which is now gone. I was glad to have seen it as it happened - in real time. Bulova brings it all back. Bulova's Moon Watch has done something astonishing. It has shown us the future of time whilst allowing time to stand still so we can remember. Back in 1971 Bulova was the real deal and an integral component on the space race. Better still the original Bulova, which Dave Scott wore on Apollo 15, was the watch which went to the moon when others had failed to function. That says a lot about the brand and what it stands for. This re-edition is so faithful to the original look it feels like you are wearing the beating heart of history on your wrist. You get lost into its design just gazing into the face. The detail, the dials, the Tachymeter, the lume and the smooth movement of the hands seems to draw you in. Storytelling and timekeeping at its best. The thrill of receiving and owning the Bulova Moon Watch goes beyond the piece itself. Bulova have really thought long and hard about the packaging. It does not come in a box. It comes in a presentation case. Beautifully designed, painstakingly documented and packed with some serious extras. The lug tool is a nice touch but the two functional and elegant straps and a revelations. They look and feel modern but they never lose sight of the heritage - especially the branded velcro space strap. It is a very cool touch - and to this Bulova fan too precious to use. I'm keeping the original straps under wraps. (see image) The Moon Watch is the very best in time keeping and time recording technology skilfully integrated into a case which highlights the very best of different age. The Space Age.

I knew I had to have this watch the minute I tried it on. It's such a handsome and elegant yet simple time piece with quite a fascinating back story of history an& the Apollo Lunar landing, really is a treat to share the story with friends and family. Biloba watches are alway offer superb quality for the price.
I have fell in love with this watch . The design is perfect! I love that it is a throwback to the original but with newer age technology. The 262 khz movement was a great addition to this watch. Oh and that price point to top it all off !!! Thank you Bulova! Did I mention I love all things Nasa and Space.
Have had the Moon watch for 2 months and i absolutely love the design, super accurate and comfortable to wear. Super job bulova.
When apollo Commander Scott's official government issue watch broke, he retrieved from the pocket of his space suit his personal Bulova Chronograph watch to complete the Apollo 15 mission. Little did he realize the historical significance of his actions. He created the only known personally owned watch to be worn on the moon. Bulova successful reissue of this historical time piece is a faithfulness recreation in both looks and feel with the added benefit of probably the most accurate propriatry movement available. It will make a stunning addition to any watch collectors collection.
Was a Christmas gift from my parents this past year. They know I love space memoriablilia so this watch was a perfect fit. Beside the heritage of the original bulova moon watch, this is a great looking and well featured timepiece. From the huge sapphire crystal to the UHF movement the questions about the never stop coming. This is my first Bulova and now less than a year later I have bought two more.
The Bulova Moonwatch is a beautifully crafted piece of history in authentic modern form! There are not enough accolades to sum up this work of art from Bulova. It all started with a wonderful article by Worn and Wound on the Bulova Moonwatch stating the original worn by Captain David Scott on the moon: the only watch that wasn't an Omega Speedmaster because his Speedmaster broke in flight and had the Bulova as a back up, is an incredible piece of history that until now has been made known. In addition, the original Bulova Moonwatch was the only privately owned moon watch and sold for $1.625 million at auction! Every single Omega Speedmaster is at the Smithsonian museum and property of the government. There is so much to say about this watch that Bulova has executed so beautifully and only improved. Its down to the details. Bulova decided to proudly boast their proprietary 262kHz high frequency quartz movement in the watch, but instead of beating at Precisionist 16 beats/second, the Moonwatch beats at a mechanical movement simulated 8 beats/second, more true to the original. The design is entirely unique to EVERY chronograph on the market! This chronograph stands out in every way. It has a perfectly executed dial design with perfect legibility and functionality. The case is entirely space age and futuristic with sand blasted case, brushed bezel, polished crown and underside chronograph pushers, and brushed topside pushers. It has a raised sapphire crystal from the bezel. There are so many dimensions to this watch. It is in a class entirely pf its own, completely holding its own in design and function. The pusher action is spot on. You can start, stop, and reset the chronograph all day. It never gets old. This is truly a phenomenal chronograph and every collector, enthusiast, and American needs to get this piece of American pie!
I have owned this watch for several months and I am completely satisfied. It is very well made and attractive. The dial is nicely detailed and flawlessly executed. I highly recommend this watch.

Very proud wearing this and telling people the history behind it.

I wanted to love this watch. Right out of the box the looks are superb. The only exception is the printing on the date dial which is of poor quality. If I had a do-over, I would prefer the non-date face with the stainless steel case. Unfortunately, while timing contractions in the hospital nonetheless, the timer function broke suddenly. This was a brand new watch shipped directly to me from Bulova. None of the hands would reset to zero and the remainder of the two day birth experience was done with no watch. Bummer. After sending it in for service, I received it back still broken. First try of the timer yielded hands that reset to anywhere but zero. What a letdown for $500+. Do yourself a favor and choose a different watch. Sorry to be a downer.
