I purchased my Jet Star directly bbbthe crimson red dial and it is amazing! The case and bracelet look and feel cheap. The highly polished parts of the case and bracelet look like fake plastic chrome. Bulova needs to take a page from Seiko and Citizen on their fit, finish and bracelets. I am being generous in rating this watch 2 stars. The only reason for 2 stars are the dial and movement. Everything else is a 1 star rating. Would I buy this watch again? Probably not!
I was coming in to write a review of this watch, and was kinda stunned to see it not available via the website, a "Notify me when available" message? How extraordinary. But it makes sense, this is a pretty stunning watch. I received mine as a 50th birthday gift, on it's 50's birthday reveal. The watch isn't a 1:1 recreation of the original, (which I also have) but that's OK. The precisionist movement is pretty cool. I like the grab-n-go appeal of the movement, I don't need to remember how to set the date each time, or make sure the time is correct. The watch wears well with the bracelet, it's comfortable and classy, but also looks great on a maroon strap. I have a couple different options, I really like a seat belt style, as it highlights the sun ray finish of the dial. I thihnk it's a casual/dressy piece. the merlot dial color makes it less formal, but a nice pop of color when wearing a suit or something outside jeans and a t-shirt. But it works just as well there.
A beautiful watch at a very reasonable price. I like the link back to the 1970s historical design. The bracelet is very eye catching - that's what people notice first.
Gorgeous watch, fits my wrist perfectly. Love the minimal pins in the band coupled with quick release at the watch connection. I also like the seamless butterfly clasp. Color is unique, second hand smooth, hyper accurate as advertised. I enjoy it every day. Great price too! I like the Bulova history. My dad had an early Accutron from the 1960's and I had a similar looking quartz Bulova in the 1980's. The Jet Star is a home run
