Beautiful Christmas Gift
My wife bought me this watch at Macy’s recently. I have had my eye on this model for a few months, in my mind it is a bit over priced, so I have expected it to drop eventually. I love the look of the watch, it really is more beautiful in person. I admit I have a bit of a sweet spot for skeleton watches and automatics, not unlike other collectors. This is the first Bulova I have ever owned but I do have other watches in my collection. If you are reading this and do not know a lot about watches, you should be aware of two things. 1. This watch is an automatic, meaning that it either requires regular wear or will need to be wound. In addition, manual and automatic watch by nature are not as accurate as quartz watches but are usually more expensive because of how much they are cherished among watch enthusiasts. This is not a negative, it’s a positive and expected of a skeleton watch since it is designed to show off the internal actives of a manual timepiece. 2. This watch has a mineral crystal face and back, as far as I know there is no sapphire crystal. For a watch that retails at just short of $600 USD, I would of expected sapphire crystal, which is a bit of a bummer and a small negative for me. If you are okay with both of these things, it is worth owning considering it really is a unique and beautifully designed watch. I will also say, I have looked at quite a few other skeleton watches, but seeing this one in person, it made the top of my list…and thanks to my wife, I now own one (early Christmas gift…shhh don’t tell Santa)
