I was in a local jewelry store perusing some older watches one day, a few weeks back, when I came across some older Bulova watches. Later on that night I happen to go to the Bulova website and started looking through the available watches. When I saw the Parking Meter watch I was intrigued, I liked the fact that it had no protrusions out the side it was nice and smooth. I liked that design because most watches annoy me with being poked or pinched because the crown is digging into my skin. I am always working with my hands. My wife saw it and decided to purchase it for me because she read the full description. It just so happened that the original was introduced the exact year she and I were born. What makes it intriguing even further is that they are yet again a limited production watch. It is good to have a 50th anniversary of that watch. I have to say having a piece of history that marries up with my 50th birthday is pretty awesome. I really enjoy the watch it is nice and smooth on the sides it doesn’t poke or pinch me and the aesthetics are very nice. To me it is. Better looking watch than the original. I appreciate it thank you. That’s why I call it the smooth operator. Blessings.
Funky, chunky and fun! The three best words to describe this one. This one will obviously be slightly different from the original, but it still retains all the funky charm that makes the Parking Meter stand out in a crowd. Plus the 6:00 crown operates the inner bezel for a second time zone. This is definitely a conversation starter!
So let me start out by saying I am a new serious collector. I stay away from originals because I don’t want the headache of fixing old movements and I like new. That feeling, I’m told , will change very soon if I continue learning and buying at the rate I am currently. One piece per month is what I can afford and spend on average , 600-1000 per watch. (2 standouts are the Longines Master Chronometer, calendar moonphase for 3500 and Breitling Super Ocean Automatic 2023 44 Turquoise dial.) I love them both, like ridiculously. This watch is more my average price point, and I had not acquainted myself with any Bullhead Style watches prior to seeing this. I think this is a wonderful re-edition, better than the original, and I love how it sat on my wrist. It doesn’t rest like normal watches because of the lug angles, so caveat emptor you may want to try it on the wrist before buying. I love the Bullhead style, it’s my only one presently, and I’m sure will be one of many. The dial is interesting, and while not the ultimate conversation starter, I wear watches for me so I don’t care. But when someone does recognize it, you will become their best friend. The dial colors are subtle but classic and the case is solid. It wears a bit larger than stated size and fits my 7 1/4 inch wrist perfectly with 2 notches left for summer swell. This watch is best for casual work and play and I haven’t tried to dress it up. It will remain in my weekly rotation for months to come, I reckon. Have a great day and enjoy.
