Great collectible timepiece, even if a little overpriced for what it its. I have it on my desk as a little connection to history around the time I was born. My 3-star rating reflects that I feel it is average - not sub-par but not to the potential quality which would have made it excellent. Back to the clock, it case is very well made. It is metal with a glass crystal and it has substantial heft. The base holder is a different story. It seems to be made of plastic with the lettering on the stick-on plaque in plain, white lettering. The movement also disappoints, being a plastic insert in the back of such beautiful case. Lastly, the operation yields an audible sound from the ticking hand. I really wish it would have been a more accurate replica with a 3-prong quartz and sweeping hand movement (which Bulova seems to offer on another alarm clock model). One more thing to point out is that Bulova offers no information regarding the specifications, movement, etc., regarding this collectible item. Overall, I like this clock and I'm glad I found it, but I feel that Bulova could have done a better job to make this tribute to history truly special - especially at the price it is offered at.
The travel clock came as a gift with my Lunar Pilot watch. The clock is encased in a plaque and the ensemble looks quite nice. Two downsides as far as I am concerned: the clock is too noisy for me to put at my bedside (not very noisy, obviously, but you distinctly hear the click every second) and the button cell that powers it is rather small so I doubt it will last long. Still, a nice addition to my desk.
Cool little clock that I got along with my Lunar Pilot watch - makes a nice set. It ticks a little too loud for a nightstand clock, but that's OK - not really my plan for it.
My uncle is a huge fan and follower of space exploration and loves his Bulova watch. When I saw this clock, I thought it would be the perfect present for him! It's a little pricey when buying just the clock (I couldn't afford the new Lunar Pilot watch too! lol) but I gotta say it's really well made and he loves that the actual clock can stand upright and is removable from the base. Feels and looks high quality and he was happy.
