When my grandfather passed away I was given a couple of his personal items. He had a watch that was exactly ( as memory serves ) like this that he got when he was in the USMC during WWII. I was given this and cherished it. My mom rented a room to someone who relieved me of it. Now, when wearing this it reminds me of him. It's tastefully designed and is very classy for casual dress. The retro look and vibe is spot on and I absolutely love the band. Well done Bulova! Through a simple and tastefully executed timepiece you have rekindled a wonderful memory!
I know it looks like a simple watch, but it brings me back to happier times in my life. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. Couldn't wait to look down at the time and be reminded of days spent with my PapaBear.
Was a wonderful gift for a Veteran, it keeps perfect time and is a solid watch. A good choice for any man for a classic, clean look.
Over the years I have gone through a good number of watches that depend on a battery. Yet the few watches I still have and use are a couple of very reliable old school wind-up watches that have outlived all others be it battery or wind-up, one being my late dad's old 1963 Bulova dress watch. This one is pretty good at keeping time and pretty darn close on staying in sync with my computer's time and is very easy to sync. This watch has proven to be tough and durable at work without scratches on the face unlike my other famous name battery dependent watches. I don't need to know the day or date. I just want the time. I'm impressed that I rarely have to wind it up thanks to the self wind feature. This is exactly what I want in a watch; simple, reliable and looks cool to me. I think it's definitely well worth it.
