On August 2, 1971, a Bulova pilot chronograph was worn on the moon, engineered by Bulova for the demands of the lunar environment. Now, Bulova returns to the design and updates it with an exclusive high precision quartz movement, continuing its legacy of precision timing with the men’s Bulova Lunar Pilot chronograph from the Archive Series, this time, with a unique dial that reinforces its spacefaring history. The Lunar Pilot chronograph features a 43 .5mm sandblasted silver-tone grade 5 titanium case with polished accents, creating a dynamic and incredibly lightweight presence on the wrist. Slim chronograph pushers and a crown featuring the Bulova tuning fork logo are perfectly proportioned and ideally positioned at 3 o’clock. Under the flat sapphire crystal, the six-hand chronograph dial is meticulously crafted from genuine Muonionalusta meteorite. This 4.5-billion-year-old meteorite was discovered in Northern Scandinavia in 1906, and its varied crystalline pattern makes every dial unique. A black tachymeter ring offers contrast around the dial, which features a retro Bulova logo. The slim hands and applied markers offer exceptional legibility and are applied with luminescent material for low-light display. The black recessed, circular grooved sub-dials include a 1/20 chronograph seconds counter at 3 o’clock, running seconds with a sweep hand at 6 o’clock, and 60-mi chronograph counter at 9 o’clock. The Lunar Pilot is powered by Bulova’s proprietary high precision quartz movement, resonating at a frequency of 262khz for unparalleled accuracy and affording a sweeping chronograph hand. The watch is paired with a fitted black leather strap which features an easy release system for quick changes. This edition is limited to 5,000 pieces and presented with a storybook, limited edition card, and certificate of authenticity. Beautiful watch that packs a lot of value for its cost. Grade 5 Titanium, Sapphire crystal and a Meteorite dial on a Chronograph with rich history! Most watches with these features would pack an incredibly hefty price tag so you definitely get bang for your buck. Really love this watch!
I have been wanting this watch since it first came out and finally did it! I could not be more impressed with the quality and feel. The finish and detail is what I would expect from a watch four times as expensive. The meteorite face and commemorative back are exquisite. And the history… oh the history! As an Apollo fan, this watch makes my heart sing. I find myself staring at it constantly. If you’re on the fence, buy it! You won’t be disappointed.

Quality Japanese movement for this one. Not taking away from the timepiece but the band is not as high quality (Chinese made band) as I would like. Fortunately, it can be easily swapped and has metal tabs to slide it out for a band you prefer. Second Bulova watch purchase for me and I am really liking the limited edition releases. Box wasn't as nice as 96C146 that I purchased but it's just a box at the end of the day.
